Laura Shibut
Program Director
Laura Shibut, a Pennsylvania native, came to Richmond to study psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU, she fell in love with the city and made it her home. Laura’s career has spanned retail training and operations in Richmond-based companies to ministry and church planting. Before joining Startup Virginia, Laura was active in the Richmond startup ecosystem as Program Manager at Lighthouse Labs, Richmond’s startup accelerator. While at Lighthouse, she worked with founders, mentors, and subject matter experts to create tailored programing for startups from across the country. As Program Director, Laura looks forward to supporting startups and strengthening the founder community.
