Concrete and Code: How Startup Foundations Create Scaling Woes

June 27, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Startup Virginia is fortunate to have two tech experts join us for our June SVA Builder Series.  As entrepreneurs, your business moves through different phases and your technical needs will change. What serves you as a startup can hinder you as you scale. Navigating these decisions with clear insights into the trade offs is often the difference between a good idea and a great business.  In this talk, Luke and Andrea will help you identify the right mix for your situation and give you a roadmap for balancing the technical tightrope that lies ahead.
About the speakers:
Andrea Goulet is the CEO of Corgibytes, a software development shop dedicated to maintaining and modernizing software applications and has been named by LinkedIn as one of the Top 10 Professionals in Software Under 35. She’s the founder of LegacyCode.Rocks, a sought after keynote speaker, and is currently working on her first book: Becoming Technical: Build an Amazing Career in Tech Starting at Square Zero.
Luke Rabin is cofounder and product lead at BLDR, a new model for turning good and bad ideas into successful businesses. Luke has spent most of his career in the earliest days of many of Richmond’s most heavily funded tech companies, and now leads new teams through every step of the process. Though he’s not as cool as Andrea and her book-writing prowess, he does occasionally publish on medium.com/bldr
