TRU GPA provides a software application that clarifies the college application process by recalculating each high school student’s GPA as the individual college/university does for leveling and admission purposes.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Currently, I am working as a Guidance and College Admissions Counselor at a local high school, therefore my day involves working there during the academic year and then spending other time after work and on the weekends building this software. Our projected launch is this fall (2019) with the plan to beta test the software with multiple users over the next academic year. When I am not working, I am spending time with my two kids, husband, horse and dogs.
What inspired you to start your company?
Each high school across the country calculates their students’ grades uniquely. Some calculate the same, but each school can have a different method to compensate for Honors/AP classes, as well as, different grading scales. In order to compare all of the applicants for colleges/universities on a level playing field, many higher education institutions have had to recalculate each applicants’ information using their own formula. Therefore, many colleges and universities have created unique calculations for their specific school.
Currently, there is not a software to easily and efficiently show individualized, college recalculated grade point averages for the public, therefore I wanted to provide this service. Many applicants are not able to have a clear view of how they are being assessed for these highly competitive admission seats and I have a desire to help students, parents and guidance counselors clarify this process. This software also provides one drive to hold all items college-related and the ability to share their information easily with college counselors, parents, etc., as well as, resources to learn about colleges, tutors, financial aid and more.
