What does a typical day look like for you?
Arin: Most days are a split between working on investing and fundraising, overall company operations, and sales calls. Outside of work, Arin and his wife Lauren spend their time at their high school sons’ sporting events, as well as playing soccer and volleyball.
Ginger: Ginger is spending her time at mental health care conferences around Virginia, networking with universities and mental health care professionals, and on sales calls. Outside of work, she can often be found at UVa baseball games.
Paige: Paige currently spends a lot of her time doing sales research work with Ginger on possible leads for UniWellness as well as attending conferences and networking. She is also heavily involved in content marketing for UniWellness, working on blog posts or social media posts. Paige graduated from CNU in 2018, where she was a student leader and advocate for mental health on campus, and she continues her advocacy work as the youngest ever member of the board for the Virginia chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
What inspired you to start your company?
Our founding team have all experienced the challenge of depression and anxiety in one form or another, with some of us losing loved ones and friends to death by suicide. We see gaps in mental health care for high school and college youth and we are passionate about partnering with schools to address those gaps.
What’s your favorite thing about Virginia?
Virginia has a diversity of natural beauty from mountains to beaches, world-class educational institutions, and incredible entrepreneurs and business opportunities. It’s a place to build your dreams as well as sit in nature and decompress.
