The Mom Complex gets out of bed every day to make the lives of mothers easier – through consulting engagements, compelling speeches and a fabulous new book “Slay Like a Mother.”
Katherine Wintsch, Founder & CEO of The Mom Complex
What does a typical day look like for you?
My days mostly consist of: making one hell of a to-do list, crossing off as many accomplishments as I can, sweating my worries out on a yoga mat or during meditation, hugging on my two adorable children, and finishing the day with a strong vodka tonic.
What inspired you to start your company?
When I first became a mother I was overwhelmed and exhausted while the mothers around me looked like Kelly Ripa on performance-enhancing drugs. I came clean about the trials and tribulations of motherhood in this TED talk that’s been viewed around the world and quickly turned the momentum into a high-end consulting company helping Fortune 500 companies develop consumer-led, retail relevant innovation for moms. Now we’re looking to scale the company and take it to new heights.
What’s your favorite thing about Virginia?
This can be anything — an activity, a destination, a restaurant, etc. My handsome husband is the Executive Director of SVA. It’s a joy to share the same workspace and a love for RVA entrepreneurialism.
