Humanitru helps nonprofits fundraise by providing software to archive and analyze donor behavior to improve relationships.
Alan Wei, Technical Co-Founder, Humanitru
What does a typical day look like for you?
Wake up late morning, get a handle on emails while trying to fumble my keys and wallet together. Go to meetings in the afternoon, shake hands, and do my best to learn as much as I can from everyone I talk to and where I can fit in. In the evening, start drawing up new product specs and ideas, and code into the night. Rinse and repeat.
What inspired you to start your company?
I was inspired to start Humanitru because I saw an immense opportunity in how nonprofits could build relationships with their donors and their community. Throughout my time in Charlottesville and Richmond, I saw donors, volunteers, and businesses eager to give back and be part of a larger community to create change. My goal is to empower nonprofits to leverage that passion into concrete improvements in society and to amplify impact.
What’s your favorite thing about Virginia?
I love the food and drink scene that Virginia has going on — whether in Charlottesville or Richmond, there’s always something to discover around the corner. Home-grown breweries, locally-sourced restaurants, tucked-away speakeasies; Virginia has it all.
